They made the transition within a week and IT IS WONDERFUL not to have cat litter tracked through (and I use the large litter maid rug), none stuck on their feet AND no odor! I have 3 cats - my one boy cat won't go into a covered litter box, my other boy cat tends to pee high - over the side of low boxes. My girl cat is no problem.
