Amazon.com:
Pixar genius reigns in this funny romantic comedy, which stars a robot who says absolutely nothing for a full 25 minutes yet somehow completely transfixes and endears himself to the audience within the first few minutes of the film. As the last robot left on earth, Wall-E (voiced by Ben Burtt) is one small robot--with a big, big heart--who holds the future of earth and mankind squarely in the palm of his metal hand. He's outlasted all the "Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class" robots that were assigned some 700 years ago to clean up the environmental mess that man made of earth while man vacationed aboard the luxury spaceship Axiom. Wall-E has dutifully gone about his job compacting trash, the extreme solitude broken only by his pet cockroach, but he's developed some oddly human habits and ideas. When the Axiom sends its regularly scheduled robotic EVE probe (Elissa Knight) to earth, Wall-E is instantly smitten and proceeds to try to impress EVE with his collection of human memorabilia. EVE's directive compels her to bring Wall-E's newly collected plant sprout to the captain of the Axiom and Wall-E follows in hot pursuit. Suddenly, the human world is turned upside down and the Captain (Jeff Garlin) joins forces with Wall-E and a cast of other misfit robots to lead the now lethargic people back home to earth. Wall-E is a great family film with the most impressive aspect being the depth of emotion conveyed by a simple robot--a machine typically considered devoid of emotion, but made so absolutely touching by the magic of Pixar animation. Also well-worth admiring are the sweeping views from space, the creative yet disturbing vision of what strange luxuries a future space vacation might offer, and the innovative use of trash in a future cityscape. Underneath the slapstick comedy and touching love story is a poignant message about the folly of human greed and its potential effects on earth and the entire human race. Wall-E is preceded in theaters by the comical short Presto in which a magician's rabbit, unfed one too many times takes his revenge against the egotistical magician. Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - What is Disney thinking?
I have to start out by saying that I loved this movie and I could not wait to get a copy. Boy, I didn't know what I was in for.

I've returned 3 copies to Wal-Mart now.

The movie would skip and freeze, occasionally losing the sound afterward for a few seconds throughout the disc. The odd thing was how the skips occurred at almost the same places on all the discs. I really want to blame the horrid packaging for this movie. The feature film disc was more of less free-floating ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Ok I get it..
Americans are fat, lazy and we are ruining the earth...did Disney really need to make a film about that? I found it really condesending that the only "fat people in space" were Americans! I really don't think we need to be sending THAT message around the world especially in a cute little Disney vehicle called Walle.... Sure there is redemption in the end but only in still shots like the animators were "mailing it in" and didn't really want a happy ending. I can't be the only one with that take on the ... Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - very well done...
Reminds me of "Johnny Number 5" from years ago......we loved the movie as did our grandkids- it kept their interest throughout and then they wanted to see it again and again, I'd go with this one for sure!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - More Genius from Pixar
The geniuses at Pixar have done it again with this extremely cute, touching, and socially conscious movie. Wall-E--short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class--is an adorable, vaguely ET-like robot whose job is cleaning up trash by pressing it into cubes. Since the future Earth he inhabits has been rendered uninhabitable by enormous garbage heaps, Wall-E has only a cockroach for companionship; all humans have fled the planet on "space vacations" and have remained in space for 700 years. In the course ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - If robots can love then so can you!
Leave it to Pixar to make us fall in love with a trash compactor robot. Wall-E is innocent and adorable, his obedient ways break your heart and instantly draw you in. The movie is exciting and funny, morale of the story is: get off your lazy behinds and take time to smell the roses. And more importantly to love and care for our planet because taking it for granted could lead to devastating results. Animation is riveting. A must have for all!
