I cannot compare it to other cherry pitters since this is the first one I have ever used but I am very pleased with my purchase. I have always just eaten around the pit and tossed them out, or placed them in a trash bowl as I went, which never seemed like too much trouble. Read More Rating: - Wish I had owned this 30 years agoWhat a little beauty. I bought this about the time we started getting the beautiful fresh cherries in the grocery store. As usual, I planned all sorts of dishes with the little darlings until reality set in and I realized that the cherry pitter I had been using was reluctant, at best. I hate pitting cherries by hand. I found this little gem on Amazon and it has been worth it's weight in cherry pie. Ok, it's not equal to pennicillin, but to my mind, it is a worth while invention.
