Editorial Review: Amazon.com essential video: Not an ideal choice for younger kids, this hip and violent animated feature from Disney was nevertheless a huge smash in theaters and on video, and it continues to enjoy life in an acclaimed Broadway production. The story finds a lion cub, son of a king, sent into exile after his father is sabotaged by a rivalrous uncle. The little hero finds his way into the "circle of life" with some new friends and eventually comes back to reclaim his proper place. Characters are very strong, vocal performances by the likes of Jeremy Irons, Nathan Lane, and Whoopi Goldberg are terrific, the jokes are aimed as much (if not more) at adults than kids, the animation is sometimes breathtaking, and the music is more palatable than in many Disney features.  Rating:  - Guilov is a rip offI ordered Lion King from Guilov and never received it. Of course they took my money. After repeated attempts to get them to send me Lion King they never did. This company shuld not be in business and shame on Amazon.com for associating with them. Do not order anything from these guys because you are likely to lose your money. Rating:  - Classici grew up listening to The Lion King soundtrack. watching the movie reminds me of how i used to sing along with Simba in "i can't wait to be king" with the biggest smile across my face (i still do). that was more than 10 years ago. now i'm almost in college and i still LOVE this movie...one of my favorites ever. i don't know how anyone could possibly NOT like this. it's the best Disney has ever done. amazing plot/theme with touching scenes (you have no idea how much i cried haha), awesome ... The movie did come unhinged during shipping, which caused a loose, shaking noise inside before I opened it. I had to prevent the movie from hitting the floor when I opened it.
