Editorial Review: Product Description: The Living ArtsĀ® Yoga for Beginners stamina video is an easy-to-use beginners program designed to help you learn the basics for power yoga. Amazon.com: Power Stamina Yoga for Beginners will make you sweat--and that's the idea! Muscles stretch better when they're warm--and when you follow this demanding sequence of yoga positions, you will be. Power yoga is the rage among athletes such as runners, cyclists, and climbers, who find that it protects them from injury, promotes flexibility, and increases muscle strength and endurance. Based on the classical astanga system, it combines breath control with movement to bring body and mind into harmony. In only 20 minutes, this tape takes you through several sun salutations, standing strength poses, and even 4 minutes' worth of conscious relaxation, leaving you feeling strong, energized, and centered. Plus, the background scenery is terrific--not just Rodney Yee himself, but also the pounding Maui surf behind him. A word of caution: though this tape says it's "for beginners," it's most helpful for those who know some basic yoga positions already. The sequence moves quickly, and there's not a lot of time for learning a pose that's new to you or even for paying attention to form. --Mary Park Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Awesome quick workout!I love this video...it's quick, relaxing and completely changed my body like nothing else every has in only about 6 weeks! Highly recommended, especially for beginners. Rating: - Great for someone w/ a little yoga experienceWhen I first began yoga, this tape quickly become my favorite after familiarizing myself w/ basic poses (using Yoga Conditioning for Weight Loss). I would recommend this to someone who has learned the basics and is looking for something a little more challenging. Rodney Yee is practicing on a beach, in Hawaii. The majority of this workout conisists of Sun Salutations w/ lunges and Warrior poses. There are a few seated or lying down moves and a nice 5 min. cooldown at the end. Total workout ... (The other was Living Arts Total Yoga, which I also like, but which is somewhat different in style and is 60 minutes long.) I agree with other reviewers that Rodney Yee goes through the poses very quickly, not allowing much time to contemplate them or adjust into them. But as a beginner, I did not find this an impediment to enjoying the practice. As one reviewer pointed out, yoga is a journey. You're not going to be able to do every ... Read More Rating: - good workout but...I consider myself an average yoga-er, but this is definately not a tape for beginners. you have to know what the poses are beforehand, as he moves from pose to pose very quickly, not really explaining how to get into some of the poses, which someone with no experience (aka beginner) would get lost. I would recommend this tape to more advanced yoga fans, as you will know most of these poses and be able to keep up. My only gripe is with his billing of this as for beginners, otherwise great workout. ... Read More Rating: - Definition of the word "beginner"????My big gripe is that this tape is mislabled!!! This tape is NOT for beginners! Beginners need instruction about the poses - how to do them, correct form and TIME to do them. Also most people beginning yoga lack flexibilty to move at the extremly fast pace the instructor moves in. There was no time for adjustments. I am in a power yoga class,in decent shape and I couldn't keep up using correct form. If you are not going to use correct form, why bother? If you are new to Yoga I would highly suggest Yoga ...
