 Rating:  - The drama picks up a bit over a werewolf vampire love triangleThe novel keys up the romantic drama as werewolf Jacob and vampire Edward both fight over the same girl. There's a stark contrast between the smooth maturity of the much older vampires, and the young, rash and impetuous teenage werewolves but the object of their affection is the same. Bella winds up torn, wanting to be able to be just friends with Jake who obviously wants more, and desiring Edward the ultimate object of her heart's desire. We know exactly who and what the characters are, what they mean to each other, etc. You would think it might be a bit repetetive, but for the most part, it's not. You know Bella loves Edward and wouldn't even dream of anyone else, but it was nice to read of the Jacob/Edward rivalry. I do get a sense that they love her both, dearly, in their own way. My daughters 23, and 26, told me about them. I'm 52! Rating: - Quite an AdventureStephenie Meyer made a great recovery by writing this novel. In my opinion she saved twilight series just before they crashed and burned. New Moon was absolutely terrible. It was boring and extremely depressing, while Eclipse was much much better. It carried that fire and passion Twilight had, and made you keep wanting more. For those of you who are down about New Moon, please don't give up on the series because of it, Meyer makes up for it in this amazing novel.
