My son recently went through a similar experience with child custody and it was a nightmare. He's reading it now and will probably write to Alec directly. I highly recommend it. Read More Rating:  - parental alienation syndrome falsehoodsWhile I am sure Alec sufferred under the legal system and other emotional traumas of custody, the claim that Parental Alienation Syndrome (PAC) was at fault is clearly misleading. There is no medical or psychiatric or other credibility for this as a syndrome. Labeling it so makes it seem somehow legally vialbe as a diagnosis. I facilitate a dad's resource group in central IL, and while the courts here aren't the CA family courts (minor procedural and detail differences), the Illinois courts are as bad, as prejudiced against fathers, as painful a system.
