Product Description:

In the winter of 2002, Stupid White Men took America -- and the world -- by storm. Tired and skeptical of George W. Bush's high approval ating, frightened by the implications of the Enron scandal -- and generally just looking for a voice of honest dissent in the thick atmosphere of jingoism that followed 9/11 -- book buyers from coast to coast swiftly embraced Michael Moore's in-your-face anti-Bush-era manifesto, making it one of the bestselling nonfiction books of the year.

With an unerring eye for greed, hypocrisy, and corruption, Michael Moore takes on the whole ugly mess of America at the dawn of the twenty-first century. Whether he's demanding U.N. action to overthrow the Bush Family Junta or calling on African Americans to place whites only signs over the entrances of unfriendly businesses, Stupid White Men is a pitch-perfect skewering of our culture of Malfeasance and Mediocrity.

Amazon.com Review:
Stupid White Men, Michael Moore's screed against "Thief-in-Chief" George Bush's power elite, hit No. 1 at Amazon.com within days of publication. Why? It's as fulminating and crammed with infuriating facts as any right-wing bestseller, as irreverent as The Onion, and as noisily entertaining as a wrestling smackdown. Moore offers a more interesting critique of the 2000 election than Ralph Nader's Crashing the Party (he argued with Nader, his old boss, who sacked him), and he's serious when he advocates ousting Bush. But Moore's rage is outrageous, couched in shameless gags and madcap comedy: "Old white men wielding martinis and wearing dickies have occupied our nation's capital.... Launch the SCUD missiles! Bring us the head of Antonin Scalia!... We are no longer [able] to hold free and fair elections. We need U.N. observers, U.N. troops." Moore's ideas range from on-the-money (Arafat should beat Sharon with Gandhi's nonviolent shame tactics) to over-the-top: blacks should put inflatable white dolls in their cars so racist cops will think they're chauffeurs; the ever-more-Republicanesque Democratic Party should be sued for fraud; "no contributions toward advancing our civilization ever came out of the South [except Faulkner, Hellman, and R.J. Reynolds]," because it's too hot to think straight there; Korean dictator Kim Jong-il "has got to broaden himself beyond porn and John Wayne" by watching better movies, like Dude, Where's My Car? (which contains "all you need to know about America"). Whatever your politics, Stupid White Men should make you blow your stack. --Tim Appelo

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - The Wrath of Moore
In my opinion, there have been plenty of literary works published attacking the socio-political structure of the United States as it exists today. My main motive for giving Michael Moore's novel a try was the hope that it would bring something truly different to the table. I was easy to see very early on that this hope would be realized.
Undoubtedly, "Stupid White Men" has to be the most hilarious and intelligent report of the state of our nation ever since the democrats were forced to ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Amusing, not Serious Look at America
I would not take Stupid White Men seriously. I wonder if it was intended as a humorous sally lobbied into the ether, but you can't be sure with Moore. It comes across as a rant against every ill he can conjure up that oppresses his view of what America should be - and clearly isn't, at least to Moore. I found it very funny at times, but I also found it very one-sided and even disturbing, as when he suggests that blacks in America will one day rise up and violently overpower whites.
I think to ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Average and twisting facts
I do not really think this book is for someone that has a thorough knowledge of politics. In general, it could have been written in a more eloquent manner; as it is easy to notice that it is for the average, disgruntled American or someone that does not like America period. Most of these people do not read enough to criticize anything. If you are ignorant to the dynamic of American politics than this book seems like it is revealing something profound. Truly, it is not. Moore tries to be a "shock ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - IT'S STILL THE ECONOMY, STUPID PART II
Upon the release of Stupid White Men, Michael Moore has arguably established himself as the answer of moderates and liberals to the likes of corporate America.

Though many are outraged about the allegations of this book, it is not so apparent that Moore's critics and opponents have answered the indictments in this publication with strong, highly reasonable, clearly expressed responses. From what I see and hear on most of the news shows, the only discussions from pundits center around using ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - RIght - Right -Right
He was 100% right on everything. Time is the true judge and it show Michael 100% right about Bush. He picked his buddy to run government. How many have resigned, been indicted, be convicted? Remember FEMA and Katrina?
